Protect the Finish You've Worked For
A glossy finish depends on preparation as well as the right treatment. At Mick's Car Detailing, we provide paint protection in Launceston, including ceramic coating, polishing and paint correction. Our Invermay workshop has worked on new and used vehicles, with protective coatings applied after appropriate surface preparation.
Paint correction and ceramic coating do different jobs. Correction can reduce the appearance of some defects before protection, while a ceramic coating adds water-repellent properties and can make ongoing washing easier. We also have examples of underbody rust protection and leather, fabric and vinyl protection in our previous work; these are separate treatments, not paint coatings. If you need a detailed clean before considering a coating, see our car detailing packages.

Paint Treatments and Other Protection Options
Different surfaces call for different kinds of protection. Paint treatments and the other protection work we have shown in previous projects each have their own purpose.
- Paint correction. Polishing and preparation can improve the appearance of selected light defects and dullness. The achievable improvement depends on paint condition and the amount of clear coat available.
- Ceramic coating. A coating applied after proper preparation can enhance gloss and create water-repellent surface properties. It may also make routine washing easier, but it cannot prevent all scratches or stone chips.
- Underbody rust protection. Our previous projects include chassis and underbody treatments intended to help limit corrosion. The condition of the metal and any existing rust influence the suitable preparation.
- Interior material protection. We have applied treatments to leather, fabric and vinyl surfaces in vehicle interiors. Those treatments are separate from ceramic coatings for exterior paint.
